The ideal job

Being a major player 

  • Organize and plan work and material resources to achieve production objectives

  • Apply and respect the collective agreement in force

  • Encourage employees to identify ideas for improvement in their area in terms of health and safety, productivity, quality, manufacturing and processing, work methods

  • Organize and schedule overtime, if necessary, and produce employee time sheets

  • Establish good interpersonal relations with team members (diplomacy, respect and listening)

  • Create a climate conducive to the exchange of ideas between employees and co-workers

  • Organize meetings to inform employees and follow up

  • Communicate and enforce quality standards

  • Review the condition of equipment on a daily basis to ensure that employees are safe, that the premises are clean and that the training of each employee is followed up on

  • Provide occupational health and safety training

  • Enforce safety procedures and rules

  • Correct situations that may be at risk

  • Support trainers and employees during the training process

  • Ensure compliance with the training protocol established by the training committee

  • Evaluate the learning and performance of employees on probation or in training

  • Evaluate training needs

  • Carry out all other related tasks

The ideal candidate

  • College graduate in textile technology or 3 to 5 years experience in a related field

  • 1 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing and unionized environment, an asset

  • Experience implementing Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, SMED, VAP, an asset

  • Fluency in French and knowledge of English, an asset

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software

  • Leadership, organization skills, dynamism, good communication skills

  • Ability to mobilize employees
